| Necessities and Luggage | Necessities Do not forget sunscreen and sunglasses despite all the excitement of an upcoming cruise. Make sure to pack them if you're traveling to any destination (including Alaska, Antarctica and Arctic).
Take a camera as well as extra film, memory cards, batteries, charger, etc.
Do not pack your passport, visa, or any other important items in the checked luggage. Keep them with you. If you take any medication, take sufficient amount of them for the entire vacation. Ships usually stock only general medications and ports may not have the necessary meds.
Prepare and pack a written list of your medications, including the name of the drug, dosage and times taken, in case you lost them.
Things you should pack in your carry-on bag include: perishables, liquid, cash, credit/debit cards, jewels, business documents, travel and health insurance information, laptops, computer disks, cell phones, cameras, binoculars, film, videotapes, CD's and cassette tapes.
It is more reasonable to bring credit cards and travelers cheques rather than large amounts of cash.
Luggage
Pack in hard-sided luggage. Garment bags may hitch and do damage.
Mind putting a card with your name and address inside your luggage plus on the outside.
