 Shore Excursions

Shore excursions are usually booked up fast. If you depart without booking them, do that as soon as possible aboard.

Budget for shore excursion expenses. Excursion costs can differ greatly depending on your port of call, cruise line and options offered.

If you are senior or physically challenged, consult with the cruise line to make sure that your needs can be accommodated at all the ports.

Ask your cruise director or physician for recommendations about the drinking water and food onshore. In some ports, water may be off limits.

You're never forced to take an organized shore excursion. If you are eager to travel around a city more in depth or see something not included on an organized excursion, you may explore on your own.

If you travel about the port of call on your own, your ship's insurance may not include such occasions. It's reasonable to check the details of your ship's policy in advance.

If you explore on your own, do not forget about the time, because if you miss a launch, you'll have to reach the ship at the next port, at your expense.

Always take I.D., the name of your ship and its docked place during onshore excursion. It is also wise to carry a photocopy of your passport with you.

Leave valuables, unnecessary cash and credit cards aboard when on onshore excursions.

Post-Cruise

At the end of the cruise, you will get a bill for signed items. If there will be any extra charges, ask to spot all the charge mistakes and take a copy of a new bill.

If your cruise is less than acceptable, let a cruise line representative know when it possible.
