| Crystal Cruises Details | Crystal cruise line has innovated the onboard experience, enthusiastically introducing cyber cafés on its ships sooner than other lines and offering how-to classes to support passengers' needs. And the line devotedly upholds cornerstone cruise traditions, such as elegant afternoon tea, paddle tennis, casinos, and activities like bingo and napkin folding. Lately, Crystal was the first luxury line to make a significant pledge toward attracting families by upgrading children’s onboard facilities and activities. The main kids' playroom boasts Sony PlayStation games, big screen TVs, and games, with camp counselors overseeing daily activities and enrichment programs.
Accommodations are cabin-wise, plush and comfortable; though, lower-level categories can be rather overcrowded.
Onboard clothing is elegant, especially on formal night, a good time to break out those sequins. And on other nights, women are likely to wear cocktail dress and men wear suits. Elegant casual dominates during the day.
The cruises that last longer and are more exotic attract an older, 55-plus crowd and few (if any) children. On the other hand, Crystal has a reputation as the multi-generational family cruise line of choice for luxury-line travelers, mainly on summer, holiday, Alaskan, and—rarely—Caribbean sailings.
The line’s category is luxury. Prices are from $450 and higher per person per day (cruise only).
Its cruise ships are Crystal Serenity, Crystal Symphony.
Destinations you may go to with Crystal are Asia, Canada, Eastern Caribbean, Europe, Mediterranean, Mexico, Panama Canal, Scandinavia, Transatlantic, U.S. East Coast, Western Caribbean.
